Two different friends said the same thing about me this week. I felt happy hearing that but at the same time sad that the result is not what it should be. My immediate respond is, “If only Life is like a Game…”
If Life is like a Game, then I can restart if I made a mistake. There will be time when I can “save” and “load” to make sure I get the best scenario after that.
If Life is like a Game, then attributes like strength and intelligent can be increased by experience in battles. I will be assured that after running for 1 hour, my speed will increase and that after reading some books, I will be more intelligent and enlightened.
If Life is like a Game, then fighting each battle will be based on attributes. If I know how much intelligent I need to pass this exam, I can just increase my intelligent and I will go through with ease.
If Life is like a Game, then my attributes will stay the same even if I don’t go to battle. Even if I stop running for a month, I will still be able to run as fast as a month ago.
If Life is like a Game, then I am pretty confident that at the end of the game, I will see a happy ending. Not all games but most of them have happy ending.
But I realized that some games have an attribute called Luck. And sometimes when Luck is really not on your side, no matter what you do, nothing will succeed. So maybe even in games, life is not that perfect.

An unexpected event brought me to Chinatown in Singapore. For the past 1 year, I have visited several Chinatown around the world, each with their unique characteristic. Today, I was snapping pictures of people, food and activities in Singapore Chinatown like a tourist. Even though I have lived here for many years, I must admit there are still many places that I have not been to or has little knowledge of. Maybe I should grab a tour guide book of Singapore and visit different places like what I did in San Francisco…

I was cleaning up my home today to put my stuff from US in place. And then I thought of taking some pictures of my Qoo collection. At the same time I also wanted to show Shing my collection. So these are my drinks collection.

Cans that I started collecting since the beginning. But I am not a hardcore collector so there may be some that I don’t have. I just buy it when I see it. Some of them were from Korean supermarket.

Bottle form… Notice that the expression on every caps are different.

Packet form. From Japan directly or from Japanese supermarket here.

These are the nicest of my Qoo collection. Some of them were from Japan. The most special bottle is the one with diving picture. The picture will change when the can is frozen (based on the text). Don’t remember trying it before. Or maybe I did?

My Final Fantasy 7 cans collection. Only managed to get 11 out of 16. Haiz…

Dissidia cans. I got all the 16 designs. Hahaha…

Same cans as above. Just the design on the other side.

Mario and Fanta cans. The small Fanta looks cute~

Last but not least, the Limited Edition Final Fantasy Anniversary Potion. Only 77777 were produced. I went through quite a bit of adventure to get it. The potion is in the box. I haven’t opened it up. If you are interested to see what it looks like, just google for the picture. Haha…

It started with dim sum for brunch. I heard it is good so I went ahead and gave it a try. The queue was quite crazy so I decided to order some for to go. So I had dim sum which is like Chinese tea snack.
My next place to visit was the Japanese Tea Garden. It is like a must go place for me before i go back Singapore. Not very sure why it is called tea garden but the place is serene and peaceful with influence of Zen culture. Maybe because it is ideal for tea drinking and thus the name tea garden. I definitely would not miss the chance of enjoying the scenery with some tea so I ordered a wagashi(so expensive) and hoji cha.

After that, I made my way to Museum of Modern Art(MOMA) as my colleague mentioned that there is a very nice rooftop garden. The rooftop garden is indeed nice. Different sculptures and installations are exhibited there and more importantly, there is Blue Bottle-a famous cafe chain in San Francisco. Looking at the cute pastry and cake and long queue, I cannot help it but join in the line :p I would say pastry and cakes are like Western tea snack. Before I know it, I have 3 different tea snacks today. It was not planned before hand except the places to go. Anyway I feel very satisfied now.

这个世界很奇妙。我们所做的每一件事,无论十分重要或微不足道,都可能在自己或别人的世界有很大的影响。就好像“Mitch Albom” 的 《The 5 people you meet in heaven》,一个人不小心掉了一把车钥匙,却带来主人翁的死亡。

So the first group of interns have went back to Singapore and I am moved to another house as expected. And only now then I realized how good my previous house has been despite me complaining about my small room. Actually I don’t really need a big room so I must say my previous house is near perfect.
Unlike the new house, my old house was at a more secluded or I would say quiet location. It was not too far from the main road but far enough such that any vehicles passing by will not disturb me. My room was downstair, meaning I was few steps away from the living room and kitchen and washing machine. Very convenient. My house was also nearer to the office, which means I can leave home slightly later. But it is just 5 minutes different so not too bad. Oh… That includes bus stop as well if I am going out…
The new house is weird… The living room is badly laid out so it does not make me want to stay in the living room. I wanted to shift things around but realized the TV needs the cable which was unfortunately in a very wrong location. That probably explained why previously the people here just stay in their own room most of the time. So interior design is very important. If feng shui really works, I think my room has very bad feng shui. I don’t know how to explain but the whole room feels weird since the moment I stepped in. Something must be wrong somewhere. Anyway, I won’t be staying for too long. Not going to shift things around as I usually would. Hehe…

I felt as if I just came out from a HK movie. Not romance or comedy show; a mafia one. And it’s real, not a movie setting. So this is what happened. There was a Vietnamese cafe in the neighbourhood. I had walked past it several time but never really stepped in to purchase anything because it did not feel safe. But yesterday, out of boredom and I was alone (don’t have to bother about anyone’s opinion) I went in…
So the layout of the cafe is something like this. Imagine a cafe, something like starbucks, a shop and an area outside with tables and chairs. The cafe is badly renovated. Actually it seems like it has been like this for 30 years. Old tables and chairs. Really seems like Vietnam heritage site in my opinion. Suspicious and unfriendly uncle playing chess, smoking and chit chatting there.
When I walked past them and got into the shop, I could feel the stare on me. Probably they were wondering who was I since most of them knew each other. To make it worse, I tend to have the “attitude face” when I am alone. It’s not my fault. Haha… Oh they were all chatting in Cantonese, that was why it felt like a HK movie.
I ordered a sandwich (Vietnamese sandwich taste really good.) and a coffee. It took almost 30 minutes for my food to come. The whole shop was managed by 1 woman. She needs to take orders at counter, make sandwich, make coffee, collect money, etc… Probably that was why it took so long. For the whole time, I was observing the environment and what everyone was doing (without really staring at them) There was also another guy that came in few minutes after me that sat at a spot that can watch me and the TV at the same time. Hmm… Maybe they wanted to make sure I did not stir any trouble or a member from the police force.
What really raise my suspicion were these 2 doors. 1 labeled as restroom and another labeled “Employee Only”. The restroom door was interesting. I did not really went in. But I noticed that the number of people went in was many more than the people who came out. Probably it leads to a back door or something. The “Employee Only” door was highly suspicious as well. People came in and out. Obviously those people are not employee since they were not helping the woman to get my sandwich done. I could not hear anything in the room but it felt like there were many people inside. Maybe it was a gambling den?
Anyway, I managed to get out of that place without any fight or gun and knife pointing at me. It was so excitingly dangerous that I thought it was fun. Haha… Thanatos at work. :p

I created another timetable/schedule for myself to keep myself moving. It’s something like Monday I will learn this, Tuesday I will do this, etc… It is the 101 or 1001 times I have created a timetable for myself. Hope it works… :p It is easy to plan or create a schedule but to follow it is another totally different story.
